1.  Drug-Free Outpatient Drug & Alcohol Clinic
Licensed by the State of Pennsylvania since 1985 in Center City, providing comprehensive outpatient treatment services for 350 clients at any given time, funded by CODAAP, Comprehensive Behavioral Health (CBH), Behavioral Health Initiative (BHSI), and private fees. Located at 121 N Broad Street on the 4th Floor. This program has grown to be one of the largest providers of drug and alcohol treatment services in Philadelphia County. The program services are designed to address the diverse needs of the adult male and female consumers:

  • Outpatient Therapy
  • Intensive Outpatient Therapy
  • Driving Under the Influence (DUI)
  • Aftercare
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Referral Services

2.  The Community Center
Established in 1996 and funded by the City of Philadelphia’s Coordination Office of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Programs (CODAAP). This program is designed to provide a safe have and other supportive services to an average of 80 participants daily, who have not yet made a commitment to treatment. A safe haven and case management services in Center City for 80 participants daily, funded by CODAAP. Also located at 121 N Broad Street, 4th Floor

3.  Outley House Shelter
SELF, Inc provides service-enriched emergency shelter and case management services for up to 200 men at any given time. In 1992, SELF, Inc. opened Outley House, the first totally “clean and sober” shelter in Philadelphia, to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program model where management and counselors share the same empowering philosophy. Outley House is currently the home of up to 200 men with an array of social problems. This program is funded by the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Shelter and Services (OESS) since 1992.

4.  Erie House
Emergency shelter and case management for 25 beds for women in North Philadelphia, funded by OESS since 2003.

5.  Susquehanna Shelter
Emergency shelter and case management for 22 women in North Philadelphia, funded by OESS since 2003.

6.  The Peer Outreach Team
Provides outreach and emergency case management to the "hard core' homeless living on the streets of Philadelphia. The Peer Outreach staff takes information to people still on the streets and engages them with a message of hope and inspiration. Case Managers make referrals to a variety of social service resources and help those who leave the streets to make a successful transition. The Staff is able to place them in various homeless shelters where they are given the opportunity for another chance.

7.  The Transitional & Stepdown Programs
A service-enriched rental assistance program provided in scattered sites for homeless men and women. In these settings, small groups live together in a family atmosphere and establish their own therapeutic environment within each house through the use of weekly community meetings, relapse prevention training
and election of house monitors who serve as role models. All residents are supported and assisted in gradually accepting the responsibilities of everyday life and developing the vocational, educational and coping skills needed for independent living.

8.  Simpkins House
Recovery house, located in North Philadelphia, for 30 single women who have been identified with drug and alcohol issues.

9.  SELF GROWTH Penn State Horticultural Job Training Program
Funded under a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED
grant), in partnership with the Penn State Extension Cooperative to provide the Urban Master Gardener curriculum for approximately 40 men/year.

10. Community-Based Vacant Lot Maintenance and Job Training Program
A contract with City of Philadelphia and The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to clean and maintain 204 parcels in Southwest Philadelphia and 218 parcels in North Philadelphia and to be able to train clients in landscaping.
